So my good friend Christie Ortman (Paper Pretties)
and I were talking one day, feeling rather blessed,
and looking for a way to give back. We discussed doing some blog candy for those who had given of themselves. Very shortly after this conversation, Christie asked me how I would feel about creating a set for charity. I gave it some serious thought over the next several days before I responded back to her. I pondered how I could make it work; spoke with representatives from the charity we wished to support with the first set and finally responded back to Christie with a resounding YES!
So, I am very pleased and grateful to announce My Favorite Things first ever "MINIs on a Mission" set, Think Pink! This set will debut October 1st, with 50% of retail and 25% of wholesale proceeds going directly to benefit Breast Cancer initiatives. Almost everyone I know has been touched by Breast Cancer in some way and although great strides have been made in recent years, this disease has taken many of the women we love. I am proud to support what I believe is a wonderful and worthy cause. In coming to the decision to go forward with MINIs on a Mission, I have to thank Gina K., whose own Stamps With a Cause was a motivator and inspiration. I know how much good Gina has helped bring to many lives with her charity work and have to acknowledge her as the charity stamp set pioneer that she is! So, here's where you come in: My Favorite Things in cooperation with Paper Pretties, is giving away 2 Limited Edition Think Pink boxes to 2 lucky recipients! Christie says, "Here's how you can enter someone special: We want you to leave a comment here or here nominating someone who has made a difference in your community. Please give us their name and tell us why you think they should receive this box. We will choose our two winners on October 5th and send their boxes out right after that!
Thank you so much for supporting us in our effort to make a difference in the lives of so many!" There will be one winner from each of us, picked by Random.org on October 5th, so enter both places to double your chances! In addition, Christie will also be donating $5 from each Think Pink Limited Edition box to Breast Cancer initiatives in Canada as well! This is truly a WIN-WIN and one I am so happy to be involved in!!

Kim,

This is amazing. I have two friends that are B.C. survivors, my friend lost her mother two years ago to this dreadful disease, and we had quite the scare this year with my mother after an abnormal mammogram. I'm happy to help! While I haven't ordered a pretties kit yet (really what have I been waiting for!) I know that I'll be ordering this one. Thanks for helping raise money for such a very worthy cause!

Kim, I am very excited to see you and Christie making such a wonderful contribution to such a necessary and worthy cause. As an administrator for a women's health medical practice, I see first hand the absolute fear and devastation that results in women with newly diagnosed diseases. Thank you so much for your effort with this amazing project. I know it will result in a wonderful contribution as every customer you have has had someone in their lives touched by this disease. I am proud to be a small part as a member of your design team to help further this cause

Kim, thank you so much for doing this. I lost my mom and grandma to breast cancer and I would love to see this disease eliminated. Can't wait for it to come out so I can help make a difference.

This is a great idea. I would like to nominate Cindy Motherway (mothermark on SCS) to receive a set. Cindy is an amazing and selfless person - always helping those in need. An example is what she is doing to support fellow stamper and friend Maddy Mason who is battling Stage 4 breast cancer:

Thanks for your consideration.

Hi Kim,

As we chatted in our email, I am here to nominate my sister. She was diagnosed on Monday, she has breast cancer. We believe she caught it early enough that her chances will be very good. However, we have to keep ourselves in reality that the MRI will tell us more and whether it's small or large - she's still in for a road I wish she didn't have to travel.

I am so happy with the efforts you and Christie are making. My other sister and I are looking for ways to help, too, not only the breast cancer intiatives but to help my sister financially. Thank you for doing what you're doing.

I would like to nominate Nicole Trudell, she is a Mom whose child has medical issues. Nicole and a group of similar Mom's wanted to give back to the Children's Hospital where there children go for treatment, so they have put together a HUGE crop across Canada. All the money from the classes ($20 per student) will be donated to the Children's Hospitals after the crop.

What a wonderful set of stamps Kim for a great cause. My own mother was a breast cancer survivior, but I have to say that my husband of 37 years is my hero. In April he had bladder cancer surgery and has come through cancer free at this time--minus his bladder! I know at times he's scared because our lives are very changed, but he has come through it all with grace and understanding and continues his charity work with Lions Club International to make the lives of those around him better! He was honored last night for 20 years of service with an international youth exchange program. Through all his surgeries and rehab, he only missed one meeting and he's the guy that a cold leaves him at a near death thing!!

I think Cindy MotherMark, deserves this stamp set. Enough cannot be said about what a caring and beautiful person Cindy is. She is all over SCS spreading her LOVE.

Great set, so easy to work with I love it.

I nominate Cindy aka Mothermark....a sweetheart of a person spreading lots of positive cheer

Wonderful set Kim! Cannot wait to get creating with it!!!!

I also want to nominate Cindy Motherway (Mothermark-SCS) for this gift. She is always reaching out to others and her most recent effort was to encourage others to send a card to her SCS friend Maddy who is battling breast cancer right now.
Cindy has spend countless hours talking to her and setting up people to visit her or to send her cards. I think her heart is huge and this would be such a sweet tribute to her!

Thanks and Hugs!
Carolyn

You've created a beautiful set for a wonderful cause!!
I see a lot of others have nominated Cindy Motherway aka Mothermark, and I too would like to nominate her. Many, many people have big and generous hearts, but Cindy goes the extra mile with her time, her generous spirit, and gentle wisdom.

Kim, what an awesome gift you are giving to the research of breast cancer with your generous donation for every sale of your stamp set!

I, like many others, would like to nominate Cindy Motherway (aka Mothermark on SCS). I have witnessed Cindy's good deeds with so many people. She truly is one of those Heaven-sent angels who have been placed here to brighten someone's day. She is always thinking of others and bringing to our attention on SCS someone who is in need of a lift and encouraging others to send out cards. Cindy has one of the biggest hearts ever, and she never expects anything in return. I know she would do amazing things with this stamp set.

Kim and Christie!

Thank you so much! When I got a pm through SCS this morning from Kim telling me I had won a prize...I was sure curious how I had accomplished that! Kim was nice enough to send me to her blog and there I discovered how this came about!

I am so touched and honestly a little weepy reading through the comments here and seeing my name mentioned and nominated! SCS is such a wonderful place full of wonderful and caring people. Everyone there makes it so easy to help others deal with the terrible disease of cancer. Unfortunately, cancer has touched so many lives but for every sad ending there is also a happy one and that is a wonderful thing.

Thank you so much....

Harriet, Cindy, Frances, Charlene, Dawn, Carolyn, Kim and Tosh! How thoughtful of you to post your comment here nominating me!

I am excited and just thrilled. Thanks Kim and Christie too!

Hugs to all.
Cindy (mothermark)

Even in the most sexually liberated and self-satisfied of nations, many people still yearn to burn more, to feel ready for bedding no matter what the clock says and to desire their partner of 23 years as much as they did when their love was brand new.
The market is saturated with books on how to revive a flagging libido or spice up monotonous sex, and sex therapists say “lack of desire” is one of the most common complaints they hear from patients, particularly women.
