Hi all! I needed to make a gift certificate holder for my 6 yr old nephew Jacob to house his Christmas present and here's how it turned out! I used the Pearl white magnetic tags and embossed some snowflakes on the outside and then stamped them on the inside with Distress ink in Broken China. I decided the Dino-Mite set would work well for a 6 yr old boy, so I added some Liuqid Applique to make his birthday hat into a Santa cap! While I am fully aware that it is his Mom who will appreciate it and not really Jacob, it's still fun to take the time and make the effort. I am just about ready for Christmas...well, not exactly *just about* but I think I will be able to get it all done before the big day! Boy, I hope so! The Christmas before last we were hosting and come Christmas morning I was in the hallway finishing some painting. I'd forgotten to poke a hole in the bag my turkey was cooking in and heard a loud POP. Well...my brand new stove got good and broken in that day with turkey spew. I think after I got it all cleaned up I grabbed a glass of wine because I needed to relax before I had a housefull of company. I don't drink often so frankly am tipsy with a glass of wine, and by the time everyone showed up I was surely the hostess with the mostess! Any funny holiday stories you guys care to share???? And don't forget to comment below for the blog candy!

That gift card is super de-duper cute! I love the little buttons on the bottom!

My only 'funny' stories are of me crafting ALL NIGHT LONG on Christmas Eve. This year I will be done tomorrow, hoooray!

I love this Kim.

Oh man...the list of Christmas entertaining stories I could provide. But, the one that sticks out the most is -- The first christmas my husband and I were married, we had the whole family over for christmas dinner. Our nephew vomited on our powder room floor. I had to stop being the host and become the instant desanitizing cleaning lady. I grabbed a whole bunch of kitchen towels to quickly clean up the mess before mopping...and I pitched the towels in the trash (I wasn't gonna keep them..it wasn't my kids vomit). And my sister-in-law states, "Weren't those the kitchen towels I bought you for one of your bridal shower gifts?" Oops...lol Needless to say, there is always a little funny intense feeling in her presence. I JUST GIGGLE INSIDE:)
Hugs to you and your family and have a wonderful holiday season.

What an awesome gift card holder and even if your nephew doesn't appreciate it now he will remember when he's older! Dh's 14 year old nephew now looks forward to my handmade cards & presents. He always asks how I make them! His birthday is tomorrow - guess I'd better get something made!

Hmmm - there are so many funny holiday stories. One year we had an ice storm and DH's grandparents and aunt couldn't head home until it stopped and the sanding trucks came through. Grandma had a couple of glasses of wine and started slurrring her words, telling stories, and became the life of the party!

Happy Holidays.

I will always remember the one Christmas Eve where my dad "got ran over by a reindeer coming home from the neighbors on Christmas Eve" That was about 23 years ago! I love your gift card - I think you've enabled me with that and your office! Merry Christmas

That's a great gift certificate for a 6 year old. I love the iamage and the colors that you used to make it. I'm sure that any child would love this gift holder.

Sorry to hear about your turkey. I hope the glass of wine helped you to relax.
